Yes! Watching the thousands of people last night who gathered all over our country (and the world, really) to celebrate this sense of hope -- well, it is like nothing I have ever seen. Amazing!

Perhaps cautious optimism, a hint of free-floating hope, and a whole lot of anxiety would be my own thoughts.....but he won, and I know you and lots of others are happy. We're all Americans, so I hope we can work together. Here's to the future. (Of course, your inheritance is probably shot to hell - haha!!!)

Actually, I'm hoping to live long enough to use up any money we might have left after the next four years. Retirement can be fun -a few cruises, some beach vacations, then some more traveling! But if Susie wants to share anything that's left, go for it! Ha,ha! I think I like your husband, boyz3mommy!
Hmmm, I don't remember a draft since Vietnam...guess there's always a possibilty it could be brought back, though I hope not. And I certainly pray that my grandsons (and your boys)don't ever have to go to war, too. What a wonderful world it would be if there were no war anywhere!

Well, Mom, I've never expected an inheritance anyway! I hope you & Dad get to enjoy it yourselves, I truly mean that! It's interesting - I've always been able to support myself as an adult(once out of school at 21 years old, thank you for supporting me up to then!!!), never have needed government assistance, have never expected an inheritance, and I am a liberal. And there are others, who have been fortunate enough to partake of and benefit from such assistance when it's been truly needed, who are not. I am just glad those who need help are able to get it though, b/c no one ever knows when it will be their turn to need it.

Police, fire, public schools and libraries, highway depts, social security, medicare... those are all funded by the people for the people. So yes, if I have to pay more taxes to benefit society that is OK with me, I just don't want my money squandered.

Love you! :o)

I totally agree - I want our money spent wisely, not squandered, especially if we're paying more than our fair share. You are right, there are takers on both sides of the political spectrum- all races, all genders, and all persuasions. But we can't stop helping those who truly need help getting back on their feet, just because there are those who abuse the system. Okay, I've going to break out in hives if I discuss politics any more today - you know I try to avoid conflict - ha! And, by the way, we are super proud of you and the responsible, caring woman you are!!! Love you, too! :o)
